Compassion and expertise in every scale.
An independent reptile rescue and hobbyist breeder in Bridlington, raising the standard of care for reptiles across the UK, especially the ones that have been overlooked.
It started with one rescue.
The first reptile we ever took in was a gargoyle gecko, and they're still with us today.
Since then we've worked with lizards, snakes, frogs, tortoises and spiders: the animals themselves, and the housing and enrichment that goes with them. Our online presence began in 2022, and we've grown into a rescue, boarding and advice service built on proper husbandry.
As an ethical hobbyist breeder, welfare always comes first. We're still learning every day, and we share what we learn so more reptiles get the life they deserve.
Elijah
Elijah started Amethyst Exotic after taking in a single gargoyle gecko, and still runs the rescue from Bridlington today.
Elijah is also a member of the RCVS Public Advisory Group, a group of animal owners and keepers who help the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons understand the public's point of view as it shapes veterinary standards, policy and services.
Elijah sits on the group as an animal owner. The RCVS does not endorse Amethyst Exotic.
